Oxlade-Chamberlain becomes Arsenal's record departure as Liverpool agree £40m fee

Liverpool have agreed a fee of £40m with Arsenal for the signing of
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The 24 year old is expected to sign a six year deal with the
Merseysiders that would keep him at the club until the year 2023.

He had rejected a move to Chelsea on Tuesday despite a fee being
agreed over fears that he wouldn't get to play in his preferred
central midfield position.

He leaves Arsenal after a six year stay having joined from Southampton
2011, with 198 appearances to his name.

He made his debut in the 8-2 defeat to Manchester United a Old
Trafford in August, 2011 and ended it with 4-0 loss to the club he is
joining this August, Liverpool.

He has three FA Cups to this name during his time at the Emirates Stadium.
