Liverpool agrees record deal for RB Leipzig's midfielder Naby Keita

Liverpool have agreed a club record deal with Bundesliga side RB
Leipzig for Guinea international midfielder Naby Keita. Which would
see him join the Anfield side in the summer of 2018.

The fee is a reported £48m plus other add ons.

The midfielder was the subject of several bids from Liverpool in July,
the last of which reached £70m. But the Bundesliga side had stood firm
throughout by rejecting all overtures from the Merseysiders.

However, both clubs have gone on to agree a fee that would have been
triggered in 2018. Which brings to an end one of the protracted
transfer sagas of the summer.

The deal for the 22 year old means Liverpool have trumped the record
£35m they paid for Andy Carroll when he moved from Newcastle United in
2011.

This further caps Liverpool's summer dealings which has seen them sign
Mo' Salah, who has been excellent in his early matches for the club.
As well as Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson.

It remains to be seen whether there are other transfer dealings up the
club's sleeves before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
