Neymar
According to reports, Barcelona attacker Neymar has been given permission to speak to Ligue 1 side PSG. The 25 year old has been the subject of transfer speculations for a number of weeks with the media awashed with the Brazilian's possible move and whether PSG could pull off such a huge transfer.
The Barcelona squad reported for training this Wednesday following their tour of the United States, and Neymar is reported to have said his goodbyes to the squad and subsequently given permission not to take part in training.
The £198m fee PSG are paying as his release clause would trump the £89m Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba when they signed him from Juventus last summer.
This transfer story remains a developing story, but the pace at which it is going the transfer could be completed in the coming days.
As to what this would mean to football finance and the larger implication to Barcelona's long term standing would be determined by how they react after. As it is clear that Real Madrid and Barcelona as a club are no longer enough to serve as a huge pull to a player, as finance is now a huge motivating factor.
Yet Neymar could claim that he is heading for a new challenge having won all there is that was available in Barcelona.
The dust should settle in earnest in the coming days and everything would become clear.
