Wenger: Ballon d'Or is Messi's

Ballon d'Or Trophy

The winner of the 2015 FIFA world player of the year would be announced later on Monday, and Barcelona's Lionel Messi is the overwhelming favourite to win the award for a record, fifth time from the pack of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.  The 28 year old lost out to Cristiano Ronaldo at the last awards ceremony, but on the strength of what Barcelona achieved last season and in the calender year 2015 where they won five trophies, the Argentine maestro is the overwhelming favourite to win it.

Arsene Wenger was asked about the award and who he thinks would win it this time around, the Frenchman has never been a fan of personal awards in football, preferring rather that the collective effort of a team should be rewarded rather than what an individual player did, to him a player would not have achieved same without his team mates, he reiterated this line when he bared his mind on where he thinks would be the destination of the award.

"I'm not a big fan of this award" he told journalist at London Colney. "It will be Messi. Barcelona won everything."

Which about confirms what everybody in the football world knows already. Anything, but Messi would be the biggest surprise of the year so far.
