The Nigeria Football Federation have annouced two friendly matches for
the Super Eagles that will be played latter this year. The matches
which will be played in May and June. The first match will be against
fellow West Africans, Mali and the second tie will see the three time
African champions engage European minnows Luxembourg.
According to the NFF, the Mali match will be played on 27th May in
Rouen in Stade Robert Dichon. While the match against Luxembourg will
be on 1st June in Luxembourg.
The football house has been rocked with internal crisis following the
judgment of the Federal High Court, Jos Division which granted Chris
Giwa the presidency of the NFF. A situation that threw the Amaju
Pinnick led board into confusion.
With the matter still unresolved, the annoucement on Wednesday that
the Super Eagles will be playing some friendly matches is a welcome
distraction the issues at the football house has created.
Although, it is unclear which coach will lead the team for those two
matches as interim coach, Samson Siasia has gone back to his duties as
coach of the Olympic team.
