EPL Round Up: Manchester United Close Gap On 4th Spot, Liverpool Continues Winning Streak


Manchester United moved within a point of the Champions League places after a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in a scheduled match played on Wednesday night at Old Trafford. The first goal came through an own goal from Delaney in the first half, while right back Damien put the finishing touches on the tie with the second goal. Louis van Gaal's side are now just a point behind Arsenal in fourth place, and just two points behind Manchester City who are third. However, Arsenal can extend their lead over the Old Trafford outfit to four points if they beat West Brom on Thursday.

In the Merseyside derby at Anfield, goals from Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge, Sakho and Coutinho sealed a 4-0 win over Everton for Jurgen Klopp's side. The Reds have continued their late season resurgence as they look to finish the season in a flourish especially with the Europa League semi finals against Villarreal coming up next week. They are now on 54points, just six points from fourth place.

In the last match of the night, West Ham overcame Watford 3-1 in a London derby played at Upton Park.
