Mohamed Salah has extended his contract with Liverpool by signing a new five year deal, which would see him remain at the Anfield club until at least 2023.
The 26 year old Premier league top scorer last season with 32 goals had a stellar first season with Liverpool at Anfield where he scored 44 goals in all competitions after he joined from Roma.
The Egypt international took that tally to 46 goals, with two goals for his country at the World Cup in Russia.
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp was over the moon regarding the contract extension asserting that;
"It demonstrates two things very clearly- his belief in Liverpool and our belief in him."
He reiterated, that the renewed contract was reward for the Egyptian's glorious season at Anfield.
"I think this news can be seen for what it is, rewarding a person who performed and contributed greatly for the team and the club last season." Klopp said.
Mo Salah won the PFA player of the season award and the Football Writer's Association award last season.
His goals helped Liverpool to a fourth place finish last season and the Champions league final.
